this 65 foot structure stands on the edge of a 130 foot high cliff. it is built on a sandstone base, has thick brick walls and is covered with a plaster overlay. the north head lighthouse had a first order fresnel lens. it was completed in 1898 and warned ships at cape disappointment, washington. visiting there in heavy rain and blustery winds was awesome! enjoy!

I think now it's Cape Disappointment, Wachington dc. Just a little humor. I like how you made a nice desktop with lots of room for icons The lighthouse can help guide us to the correct icon. The photo itself is quite pleasing and the colors and lighting are perfect. Very good Jen.

Looks like the same day as Haystack rock was captured. A wonderful old lighthouse and it must have been exhilarating standing out there looking down into the water below.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Now there's what I like to see. I love lighthouses. Any kind. I am wondering if you are going to post a picture of it from below the cliff. That would be great. This one is going into my favorites with the other lighthouse pictures. I also love the desktop presentation of the image.

I love the signs of age on the structures. The clarity and colours are wonderful. It's a beautiful atmospheric image. :)
