Absolutely fantastic capture. And, you actually got some sunlight shed on the subject. That only happens a couple of times a year in Oregon. ;) If you like seafood, dine at Dooger's in Cannon Beach. Their fried crab legs are to die for.
I'd love to open up your head for a day and see what it is you think and view when you take these great shots..Lovely again, but that can be said of so many of your wonderful uploads !!
"Where there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see." ~Dorothea Lange
Marvelous, Jen and the gull just tops it all off. So now I've seen this much talked about rock too! What a thrill to have been there in person. I can only imagine. (And look at your wonderful shots, too).
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

A classic shot made even better by the terrific reflections you captured and the clever way you arranged the clouds so that they are pointing toward the rock. Super!

Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.

What a beautiful image, Jen. Keep up the great work. May I do a little Photoshop work on this, and share the result with you? If you have Photoshop, I can share a couple of helpful hints with you, that is - if you like the result.
