took this at AMNH in new york. i was trying out the cannon G9. i think butterflies are hard to photograph. either they don't stay still long enough or i don't. wonder which it is??? thanks in advance for looking and/or commenting. enjoy this colorful (furry?) fellow!

The Canon G9 is a terrific camera...I started off with the Canon G5...Takes a great shot..this proves it!...

I agree with you Jen, butterflies are very hard to capture especially in the open air at high temperatures. Although not in the open air, you've succeeded in doing this very well. Conclude too that both of you must have stayed still a relative long time, lol. Beautiful image!

I'll agree with you on taking butterfly shots. They never seem to stay still and when they do for me their wings are usually closed. What a great capture here, nicely done your patience paid off. Bravo!!
