the title is an indication that i don't know the name of this butterfly. yesterday, i went to the exhibit at the museum of natural history in washington. this guy(?) was in residence. i liked the detail of the wings. enjoy!..................................................................LynEve says the butterfly is a (Danaus gilippus). thanks.

So this is yours? I got it in the VB already. I killed it! (just joking). What a beautiful butterfly. The exposure on the insect is so darn perfect, especially in the browns, it is captivating. Beautiful.

This sure is a great close up, Jen. The colors are spectacular...especially the shade of brown on the butterfly. The yellows really pop, too. Super job.

I think it's a Jenus Superbus myself. Beautifully clear and such strong colours. I like the centre of the flower a lot too, you got so much detail there.
