seeing the dale chihuly exhibit was a true thrill. the glass sculptures are magnificent. i walked inside with my camera (no tripods or monopods allowed) and thought i'd come away with absolutely nothing. fortunately i walked up to a nice man with a serious camera and asked him about his settings. so for the first time in my life....i photographed with an ISO setting of 1600. the focal length is 24mm. if this exhibit should come to your town DON'T MISS IT! thanks in advance for any comments and/or suggestions. ENJOY!........full frame is best for this one.

Vibrant colors. I don't think it will ever find a place in our home, but it looks great here.

I love glass ornaments ... their jewel like colors are beautiful. You captured the reflections perfectly too. Excellent work Jen ... I love it.

I saw this exhibit when it was here in our Botanical Gardens Jen. you did a great job of capturing the brilliance and tones of Chihuly's works.......I love the reflections that you captured as well. To my favorites this goes.
Many thanks for sharing it with me :=)

Great shot Jen. It looks like it made it to St. Louis but doubt it will make it to my neck of the woods. Some Redneck would eat it. Totally beautiful.

Why do the pictures come out square when the lens is round??

Well, I made up a rather catchy remark that I lost when I went searching for the other person on this site that loves Chihuly's work, some of which can be seen Here in BurnTracer's Gallery.

I remember telling you this in Washington, but couldn't conjure up the name.

Love this and 'fess up, girl: You were leaning on the shoulders of your mentor when you took this pic, right? A sort of human tripod?

Great night shot advice and a lovely image to boot.

Straight on to my HD!

Jen this is an AMAZING capture and your settings really did the job, but it's the person behind it that really does the work. Fabulous posting my friend & thanks for sharing this beautifully colourful glas work. We visited the glass company in Venise and loved it, it looks like their type of work.

What do ya mean you asked a man with a "serious" camera? A Canon 5D is not a serious camera? Par-don- em-wah, or however they say it. Maybe you had your G9 with you? Still a serious camera. Great capture. (slinks off to go throw her 40D in the trash) (snicker)

It's difficult to believe that this wonderful photograph was taken at ISO 1600 as there is so little noise or graininess. The colours are wonderful as is the work of art.

Love the colors in this! I've done the same thing - asked people who have cameras that indicate they might know what settings to use! Looks like an amazing exhibit.
