what about the framing? is it ok or should i stick to the plain stuff. i do not have any framing knowledge so the best i can do is make a box.

I love nature scenes like this one. Looks like the perfect spot for a walk or to explore. I like how you captured the motion of the river & the colors are wonderful. To me the framing looks fine ... it doesn't overpower the image. Very well done Jen.

You didn't ask me to join you? lol What a great bubbly green stream. Nice country, Jen. The framing? I would just cut back the orange part some because I think it distracts some, but a little color in a frame never hurts. Then, of course, basic black is always just right, but occasionally, the color adds a little umph! Please bear in mind, that is only my opinion. Maybe just a 2 pxl border of black before and after the orange. Sometimes I go around and around with borders and end up with a dozen or so of different styles or colors. Then I look at them again and end up posting the very first one! lol I guess the answer is just experiment and have fun!

Sweet spot!! Seems a wee busy and the horizontal line to me seems a little askew...could be the scotch!! Also agreee with CynLee.

Why do the pictures come out square when the lens is round??

I like how the water is flowing and the effect it makes. All the green does seem to beg for some border but I agree with Cindy and think just a small black border would work. I don't use much framing but it is not because I do not like it. Photoscape, a free program, is a good place to learn some framing techniques. Good post Jen and I apologize for rambling.

Hey, Jen, I had forgotten all about Greer..looks just as good as ever. Little known secret, but that was my nickname when I lived in good old Window Rock!

Your framing? I like the basic look of it, but I'm not sure about the strong orange against the green, although I realize they do compliment each other.

Tick had a good suggestion if you don't have photoshop and lots of cameras have built-in framing, or so I'm told.

Nice to see you experimenting, my friend. Wish I could be there to take a walk and enjoy a much-needed talk!

I love this picture. It certainly looks a lot different than my memory of the Little Colorado where it joins the Colorado in the Grand Canyon. As for the framing--I like it just fine. But you should do whatever you like. Don't worry about us Yahoos.
