FULL FRAME would be best for this one......whilei was spending time in kauai, my husband, mo, was in alaska. i kept thinking "woe is me, he has the long lens". now. i'm so glad he did!!!! he took this one (along with lots of others) with our canon 10D and a 70X300 lens. those of you who attended the UK get together met mo. i have always said he's much better at photography than i! enjoy his portrait of the "whale's tail".

Tell Mo this is great. I thought the title was in reference to Moby Dick. I live in MO. Does that count? This lets the imagination run wild. I can almost hear the thunderous sound as the tail hits the water. I get excited when a six pound bass jumps out of the water and makes a splash. Colors are really good. Nice post.

As one who has met Mo!...he's a canny chap who lets his wife do all the talkin'..he he!...
Mo just follows round snapping away...and no one realises just how good he is, until you see his results!...

A crackin shot and one place I would dearly love to see!

Can't agree with this Jen, lol. Your husband has a different, but very good, style of taking captures. This image could be made by a professional photographer, so please give your husband my compliments.
Regards, Cornelius.

That's a good Tale of the Whale's Tail, Jen. This is an exceptionally good picture as I'm sure it had to be taken in somewhat of a hurry. Tell Mo that he done good!

Gosh, Jen, now that I've seen this pic of Mo's after seeing what he did catch, I'm beginning to think maybe you should have gone with him. On second thought, divide and conquer, as you go a lot of great pics from Kauai and Mo did a splendid job on his assignment in Alaska! Super photo....great work.

Jen ... a magnificent capture by Mo. I've seen humpback whales in the past & they are a truly amazing sight. Glad he spotted this one. Straight to my faves ... love it.

That grabs one's attention. Can't you get him to sign up on Caedes? Great capture. You were in Hawaii and he was in Alaska?

What a great "catch" from MO. I'd still be fumbling with the settings on the camera and the big one would have gotten away! lol
