this was taken from the brazil side of the falls. we were there in 2001. we were told that the rainfall had been super heavy that year, hence, the color of the water. the water volume was huge and almost always muddy. so many of the viewing places out over the river were unavailable. my guess is that we saw more water than most visitors usually see but were unable to go to many places that are most often open. this day was a rainy one. we were in our plastic rain gear. i popped the camera out for a quick shot. (i can't remember which camera i used) as the title states "a peek" this is only a small look at a truly awesome spectacle. i know this is an odd shape for me to submit. it was taken long before i had ever heard of desktop wallpaper and i think, before there was a "caedes". thanks for any comments. they are always appreciated. ENJOY!.

Beautiful shot! Very nicely presented here too. I would love to see this shot in full view though as well without the cyber matting. It is really superb.

Wonderful and impressive capture Jen. Miss only the roaring sound of the falls.
Reading your narrative, think this image belongs in the 'classic masterpieces' gallery. Oh sorry, we don't have such a gallery at Caedes, lol.

between you and Garrett.. you're killing me (in a good way) with these images of Brazil. It's been far too long since I've been there...

*checks passport* yep.. way too long.

I can attest to the color of the water, and it's cause. That's a bit of a cyclical thing down there. Still, the magesty of the falls is quite clear.. very nice catch, Jen.

Please, even if you don't visit my gallery, check out my "Faves".I've left them intact since day "1", and would like it if every image there got the attention they deserved.

Wicked 'n' wild!! I like you thought here in making it desktop wallpaper friendly!! Perhaps a very thin white frame around to hold the viewer within the piece?? Powerful pic!!

It looks noisy. I mean ear noisy, not photo noisy. Good post Jen and when are you going back for a retake?

What a view you must have had.
