what drew me to taking this photograph was the sculptural quality that appears in the sand. first there is the long dark ridge from top to bottom. it kind of looks like a river in the sand. i also like the other groves in the sand. two of you so far see a face in the sand. to be honest i didn't but do now. thanks in advance for your comments. i think this is best full frame. could make a good desktop. ENJOY!

It looks like a horse head to me with the large stone as the eye. I think it makes a wonderful DT. I guess Mother Nature is the best sculptor of all. Nice detail, Jen. I can see every little grain.

Really a cool capture and find. Have to agree with you on this, there is really great textures and love the different colours of the sand grains.

I think I can see the face too & have to agree with Cindy on this, looks like a horse or pony head

A beautiful sunny day but really really cold, burr and the windchill makes it a lot worse.

Most would not notice such a fine piece of work just there at your feet. Nice work in capturing this.

It does have the granite look to it Jen. Great textures. Reminds me of Native American drawings on a cave wall. I really don't think the stones were needed.
Excellent post.

The textures are so defined in this. One has to view it full size to appreciate it fully. Excellent find and capture.

Jen, how close were you when you made this capture. It is amazing how much it does resemble a face. Its as tho you can even see the very pronounced wrinkles. I agree with Cindy and Mother Natures marvelous creation.

This image looks very grainy. OH, it is sand. LOL. Very nice image. Interesting, the different coloration's of the sand. Can vaguely see a horses head, but also a bird face between the two rocks.

I don't see a face but I do see an aerial photograph of a desert with two or three small watering holes.

Nice to see something different from you. Getting in closer like this is something I want to experiment with myself. I do see the face I think, framed by a sweep of hair on the left. Really well observed.
