this is a shot from a slot canyon. i liked the undulating rock waves.. notice the color in the walls. i thought of putting it in the textures gallery but then it does look abstract to me. it seems like it would be a good desktop. thanks for any comments. ENJOY!

This is an Amazing capture Jen. It's unbelieveable what nature can create. Beautiful textures, colours and clarity of this close up, Bravo my friend.

A beautiful sunny day but really really cold, burr and the windchill makes it a lot worse.

That is just sheer beauty Jen. I see a lot when I look at the lines. I see a lady standing with her back to us. Is there something wrong with me? Textures are really good and somewhat flesh tone. Now this doesn't have that certain sameness that is all the rage now.
Excellent post.

I commented another canyon photo in the past and I said "nature is the best architect". That's true for your 'wavy'!
Why not in the 'Photography->Texture'?

Interesting wavy lines & 'textures'. I like the natural tones. I notice a little grain which I think adds something special ... the red rock almost has a wood grain appearance. Nature in itself is amazing & you surely presented it suberbly with this capture. Very well done Jen.

Wonderful capture Jen. The more I gaze at it, its almost as tho I can see an outline of a womans silhouette positioned a little off the center line. But then again it may only be me. I like this one :)

Fantastic shot! Love the textures nature has carved out of this rock. Very good subject for a photo.

This is lovely. Looks like a canvas painting even. Love the colour tones and of course the feeling of texture. I like that you took this photo. It reminds me of a painting that Georgia
O'Keefe has done. Nice stuff Jen. Verena

My first impression was: a detailed image of a piece of cleaned driftwood. Can you imagine Jen, that I was very amazed by reading your narrative? One must have an eye for this, and you surely have.
Excellent post!

That's rock? Amazing. I wonder how long it took nature to produce that? Your right, it does make a good desktop.

Certainly does conjure up lots of interesting images in the mind, especially because of the lines, textures and warm colors. I've only seen a slot cavern once and it was in Howe's Cavern in NY.

While this might be somewhat abstract in terms of composition, this is definitely all about texture, IMO. The different depths of the etchings in the stone over time, and the subtle lighting that help bring it out, to me, are what make the shot. Nice one.

Please, even if you don't visit my gallery, check out my "Faves".I've left them intact since day "1", and would like it if every image there got the attention they deserved.
