"Dunstaffnage Castle 4mi/6.4km north of Oban (Scotland) stands guard on a rock over the entrance to Loch Etive. The three round towers and the walls, in places 10ft/3m thick, date from the 15th C when the castle belonged to the Campbell clan, while the residential tower was built in the 17th century." Thanks in advance for any comments. ENJOY!

Another castle to keep. Thanks for this very nice shot. I had a trip to Oban oh so many years ago, but don't remember seeing this great castle. Sometimes memory fades as we get older.

Beautiful Jen. I thought the residential tower looked more modern then the rest of the castle. lol. The stairway in front is almost hidden with the brick coloring. I think I have eaten soup from there. It was Campbell Clan Chowder. Excellent post.

Very nice. I often wonder how comfortable castles were in the winter. They must have been drafty and hard to heat.

You people that live in places like scotland and germany etc. must have a ball when it comes to photography. Your images are always beautiful. Getting a little green eyed now but still love the image lol. Well done.

Great shot of the castle and the strange sky is perfect for the background. Very very interesting effect on the lower front sides of the castle.
