known as the gillespie gila river bridge this was built in 1927, near gila bend, arizona. its length is 1,661.8 feet. it's listed in the national registry of historic places. if you look toward the top of the bridge you'll see the narrow gila river. under the bridge the rest of the area is filled with brush. it's pretty much impenetrable. This river has run bank to bank many times during periods of heavy rain. there were lots of big white egrets but i couldn't get near them. if you'd like to read more about this, here's a link.....http://www.flickr.com/photos/80651083@N00/388779095/in/pool-flickrbridges............. thanks in advance for any comments. ENJOY this rusty relic! AS OF LAST NIGHT THERE IS A BIT OF A WILDFIRE BURNING IN THE RIVER BOTTOM. LOTS OF TV COVERAGE.
