i took this one yesterday. i actually had to desaturate the rocks a tiny bit. this is in the oak creek/sedona/red rock area of arizona. the rocks looked redder than ever and the volume of water was greater than i've ever seen. thanks in advance for any comments. ENJOY!

Jen - A gorgeous shot. It looks like there are some limestone pieces among the bright red sandstone. I like the stream cutting diagonally across the scene, with the mountain in the background. Thad

A beauty WC. I think as hard as the rocks are it would be difficult to desaturate them. :) A wonderful scene from our great country.

Can mention a lot of superlatives Jen, but when I say that's both a beautiful and impressive image to me, think I've made clear how I'm thinking about it.

What gorgeous colours. It reminds me of the many pieces of pottery that have that colour in them. I'd love to be here, looks like a grand place to get your feet wet on a hot day. And I love the contrast between that colour and the huge boulders. Nicely done. Verena

Forgive me for not commenting lately. I went off on a 4 day trip and now I am sick and not feeling much like sitting at a computer. Just wanted you to know I viewed your pretty picture.

Hi Jen,
where is this? Looks a great spot for walking, sitting, drinking and anything else that comes to mind.
About desaturating the rocks: it is the result of your cameras inability to determine the right white balance. (all camers would have that problem in this particular place).
Remember that your camera always needs a piece of white or grey area in the picture to get the white balance rigth.
Sometime I look around in the area to find a piece of white/grey and shoot a picture of that. Then I can use that photo in the Canon Photo Prof programma to copy that white balance setting into the shot of interest like this one.
The result is that you get the rocks and trees in exactly the right color.
I wish I could show you, you sitting beside me on the couch.
