another from the sunset crater visit. almost the entire landscape is made up of volcanic cinders. the cone is a natural occurrence. plants seem to grow right up out of the cinders. thanks in advance for your comments. ENJOY!

A great interesting shot, and beautiful, even if it is mostly cinders.

What a great shot! It's interesting to see what can grow in that type of area. Great job.

Jen - I like this image a lot. Flora can grow in almost any environment, including volcanic ash. The cone is fascinating, I assume from a small side vent of the volcano. Thad

Gorgeous colors and depth in this shot, Jen. Beautiful lighting, too. This is a place that would definitely be worth a visit.

The cinder cone is very eyecatching with the surrounding vegetation. It'a always amazed how things still grow in volcanic ash. Wonderful capture Jen.

I love this type of geography!! Living in California affords lots of opportunity to see this as well:) Up north at Lassen National park are a lot of cinder cones and up further north at Shasta more of these. Cool shot Jen!!
