I spotted this pretty bird in Thailand. I thought identifying it would be easy. Notice the little hairs under his beak. Thanks in advance for any comments. ENJOY!

Why he's an Oriental Magpie Robin, of course! Such a beauty of a shot with those great background colors, Jen.

I have mixed feelings about the lamp, WC. The bird looks so clear and beautiful but the lamp fights my eyes for attention. Probably just me but that's how it strikes me.
The background is stupendous.
Happy Birthday, WC

What a HANDSOME little guy/girl. :-)
Excellant Focus! Great Shot! I too have "mixed feelings" about the lamp, but I can't see a "Crop" that would have made it "wallpaperable" without alot of Clone work. Still, a Wonderful shot Jen.

Jen... I see nothing wrong in this shot... and I'm not a bird fan! The bird is so well in focus while the lamp is softly out and it's the eye of the bird that definitely catches my eye's attention! :o)

Very well done, Jen. I can't agree with the partial lamp/post being any problem. I think it completes the picture beautifully, as it has all the birds attention, and the size ratio seems to make it almost confrontational.
I do think a bit of + Gamma would lighten the bird just slightly without adversely affecting anything else.

Jen - An excellent presentation of this bird (a magpie, by consensus among the ornithologists who have commented). Thad
