I think you are right about it being echinacea. It is very flat and not cone shaped like it's more famous sister, but never the less, a beauty from the garden and a fine spreader too. The shot is excellent too, Jen, with unopened buds balancing on both top and bottom corner. Nice vibrant color as well.
The name suits the picture. Very well captured. Brilliant petals add to the enhancement. I would like to know how big the flower was. Since there is not scale around to compare it with. Just curious.
