This is from our day with the Gerritsens. After I held Paul's legs to keep him from falling in to the Colorado River, he volunteered to stand out on a ledge to hold me. Note the difference in what cameras we are using. I am amazed at what Paul knows about the operation of a camera. He is awesome and so is his family! Thanks for any comments you might want to make. Enjoy this scene which was taken with my little camera.........If you really zoom in you can see people camping on that middle area beach.

Hope you don't mind, Jen..

Link to Paul's; aka Paul_Gerritsen ... "Horseshoe Bend".

Interesting to note, at least to me ... the differences between your two photos. Cameras, et al.

Clarity and focus is great in both.

Paul's shot is very nice, of course.. however, if I had to choose between?

Going to give yours here the nudge. As I do like the slightly more saturated colours (not overly so, by no means ... still nice and natural).

Good good shot.

And but of course, thank you for sharing this one with us. :o)

I am overwhelmed by God's majesty when I see such a sight as this. I would be fretting about everyone around me going too close to the edge. Fantastic shot, Jen. It looks like it was taken from a helicopter.

Les provided us above a link to Paul's Horseshoe Bend image, making it easy to compare both photographs. Paul is an excellent photographer with excellent equipment. Knowing this, I have only more admiration for the by you captured image Jen, as it's a perfect one too although it was made with your little camera. Very well done! Kudos, my friend.
Regards, Cornelius.

Jen, you must admit that, like me, you too must wake up every night from a nightmare in which we did plunge down together into that river...!
But then...I would keep shooting meanwhile, getter a better closeup!

A great shot WC. The trees look so small from this viewpoint. Great perspective. Suffice it to say they are both great shots.

By the perspective / angle I can tell this would be a hard to get capture. Love all the detail. Magnificent capture, Jen.

Well, guess what girl, for this particular view I prefer yours to Paul's. (She won't be able to get her hat on her head, now)

I have to say that I prefer yours, it's more attractive and exciting, with more details. And yes, stay on the ground, it's only a shot. LOL It's easy for me to say that. If I made a shot like this, I would think twice who I would communicate with. LOL

Jen - Thanks to Les' link, seeing both Paul's and your photos of Horseshoe Bend, the slightly different perspectives, perhaps offered by shaking hands leaning out over the ledge (lol), make for different images. This, of course, is one of the joys of photography, in that the same scene can be viewed differently. I like the color saturation and contrast of your image, providing solid definition to the contours of the massive rocks and waterway. Thad

I have looked at both and would not like to have to choose :)
There is just so much contained in this Jen - including the sensation of vertigo! Good stuff indeed and a medal for your bravery :)

Well Lyn, I really like this one and my camera is small that I carry in my Fanny Pack when I'm walking and biking around. Love those colours
