I like the angle of the shot, the frame work around the edge and the real depth of the subject, but I still find the overall impression as kind of bland. There just isn't anything happening in the image. I really like the other things in your gallery, however, and really feel like this was just kind of a trial run for something greater...please prove me right. :)

This actually was an experiment. I set up a very low budget still life studio to see what results I could get. This was my first shot. Just trying to see what I can get with some not-so-exciting objects. Isn't that what's great about digital...you can experiment all you want and all it costs you is a little time. Thanks for the constructive feedback.

interesting shot. when i was little my grandmother always threatened to spank me with a spatula or some other kitchen utensil. this reminds me of that.
