i'm not sure whether i had seen the original version or not, but this one looks marvellous! that beautiful sky and those golden shades, absolutely stunning! and it makes a nice contrast with the mountains in the background.

also, the sea looks amazing, too. i bet that man is enjoying being a part of this beautiful scenery (is that a man over there? :) what i like the most in this image is the reflections on the beach, it looks like liquid gold! spectacular... this one deserves a place in my favourites and highest marks :)

I haven't seen the original yet, but I think the monochromatic gold helps to emphasize all the textures in this photo. The smoothness of the dark hills and golden beach (are those the shadows of three pairs of feet I see?) contrast with the choppy water. And those clouds!
