This is the observation deck set in a natural resource area overlooking the creek at our local county park. During the winter months one can observe Common and Hooded Mergansers, Double-crested Cormorant, Ring-billed Gulls, and the occasional Bald Eagle. The park is one of my favorite places to get in touch with nature and I plan on revisiting as soon as the weather breaks. Enjoy!!! Please view full screen. Thanks

Great place to be for wildlife shots I bet. It reminds me of Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge near Toledo. I like the little bit of snow scattered about in this picture. The sky looks super. Excellent composition. Well done, Laura.

Great park to visit if only we had big open spaces like this in the UK. Normally I'd say objects like the observation deck would be a distraction to the view however it works well here, well done Laura.

Could be the area where I live as well Laura, but it's on the other side of the big pond, lol. Love the tones in it. Proves to me that in the wintertime, even when there's no snow, nature is wonderful.
Thanks for this excellent capture!

It looks beautiful even in the winter season in your shot with all the brown grass and with those leafless trees against the blue sky Laura.

I have been watching The Soprano's on DVD and I'm up to the last season Laura. Now I know where the bodies are buried.
Great view and a wonderful place to observe and shoot!

What a beautiful location. I think by adding the deck you have given your image perspective. I also like the layering of the reeds, water and forest.

Exactly my kind of place Laura - it reminds of the prairie with the wetlands I go to each summer. Gorgeous winter shot BTW.

Huge bonus points.. for orienting the lookout binoculars.

Anchors and strengthens your composition of the setting.

Good good natural colours, and well-handled on the other technical considerations (exposure, et al).

Well.. done.

And.. but of course, thank you for sharing 'your place' with us. :o)

A great capture of the conservation area. Good depth in the scene and composition of the photo. Great colour tones and lighting in the image. I look forward to scenes of the wildlife.
