I had a conversation about the tension in the hands of A Mother's Love with Cindy and told her that i would show her and you all this photo... a less tense, more in the moment image captured during the shoot for A Mother's Love. I think the photo was nice in b&w and if you all would like to see that version, let me know but as many of my images lately have been b&w i wanted to post a color version of this image. I also wanted to know how you all felt about the skill/quality the shot in color. Honest opinions please!

Why do the pictures come out square when the lens is round??

I prefer the b&w....something about the nuances that you see more easily in b&w.

Yes, this is a much more natural and relaxed pose of mother gently supporting babies tiny foot. I like the black background and the soft focus. Someone spoke of nuances in b/w, which is true, but then you don't get the nuances of skin color in a b/w image that you do in a colored photo. I think this would be fine in b/w too. Nice job, Emily.

The color tone looks nice to me.My honest opinion, the focus is lacking.Too many areas of the photo are slightly out of focus. The toes especially and parts of the hand. You were a little too close.I often back away from the subject knowing that I have my camera setting on a large size, for a photo like this, then crop in when I edit. That was most of the subject will come into focus.I think that this is a great subject photo and just a "little bit" off the mark..Tom

This one is great. I love the idea, but I think I would like to see it in a black and white, or possibly sepia tone. Great job! Keep it up!
