Thorsmork Sunset

After a very, very long day hiking, I came over the last crest into the valley that I'd be camping in to see the sun starting to cast its sunset glow over the enclosing hills and glacier. Forgetting the pain and tiredness, I dumped my stuff in a quiet corner and headed straight out after photos. There was so much to take! The foreground was immense - pale white rocks, flowing water and occasional bits of dead wood caught by the stones. Above them, high and jagged hills lit by the sunset rays stood out contrastingly from a stormy sky. This whole place was wonderful - picturesque, and, blessedly, wind-free for once!

Awesome view of mother nature. I can't believe how yellow those mountains are. Your entire scene is very pleasing. Well done.

How lovely it is when unexpected blessings come into my life to cheer me up and put a smile into my heart. Help me to pass them on, dear Lord. Fay Angus

The light is the most striking part of this. The bright contrast the mountains and the dark mellow water just sets everything off. Then in the background the blue mountains. It's perfect. Nicely done.

The softness of the water, the colors in the hills, and the shadows between the rocks are amazing. This picture stands out in every way. Amazing job, I hope to see more like it. Cheers!

This is Thorsmork, Iceland, just inland from the South Coast. This photo was taken looking down the valley from Langidalur, close to the campsite...

Everything you post has a very high quality.
What a great series.
The only thing I might complain about is the lack of sharpness.
Is that a resizing problem?
