I know the sky spoils this picture, but I am posting it for a reason. I took this shot some weeks ago when we had our snow little knowing that this would be the last photograph I would ever take of this particular view. Visitors to Conwy, may remember the row of shops to the left. The first building ( by the bin) was for many many years a great little gift shop which almost every single visitor to the town had been in. I was lucky enough to have worked there for a time. Next was the boat shop, which must have sold thousands of crabbing lines to excited children over the years. It still has the sign above the door. The red brick building is the old customs house ( which I really think should be kept) and then the aquariam. All of these buildings are now in the process of being demolished in the quay improvement scheme.

I know they are scruffy but its such a shame to see them go.

Thank you in advance for all your comments, they are appreciated xx

I think the dreary sky fits the bleak outlook for the shops. It is too bad when meaningful and cherished people, places and things go by the wayside. Save this for future generations Jo. They will love it.

It's so sad when things like these shops (no matter how scruffy) have to change, all in the name of progress. But you've made a permanent record of them ad shown it to all the world. Well done MFJ and a big thank-you from all the people who have bought packets and packets of Welsh fudge from the gift shop!

Yes for some of us Modern Progress really sucks.

I've seen such happenings in my Lifetime also.
It's usually never for the BEST. Just Change, that's All.

Thanks for sharing.

Interesting port, unusual architecture of the houses and good and long comment and explanation, although it's not necessary, the picture tells it all. And the picture is pretty.
