One of the posher cells inside Denbigh Asylum. As you can see from the lightbulb, this cell is very narrow. Its about 3 foot wide and about 6 foot long max. There is a row of these along the wall of the large ward ( coming soon )
I dont know, but as these are not the specially designed cells that are to be found hidden further in the hospital than I went this time, that the less insane people would be housed in these nasty little rooms. I think being locked in a room of thise size would certainly affect my sanity. Sorry its slightly angled.

Nice picture of the cell,Jo,it is small indeed,the photo is a bit tilted to the right,you can easily fix it,the clarity is good as well.

I find it difficult to believe that nurses actually put mentally disturbed patients in such a tiny room, just how old is this hospital ?

No wonder they were insane if they were backed into a corner such as this BC. If they weren't insane before the treatment, they surely would be afterwards.

Agreed in that this space is enough to make you crazy. I couldn't imagine how suffocating it must have been with the door closed.

Man I would be seriously thinking about doing some re-decorating!A little wall paper and another couple hundred square feet and that would keep me sane I think! That really looks nightmarish to me and I bet to the people who were forced to live in that tiny closet room!
