This is my Dad....Frank W. Warmbier when he was in the Navy in 1944, he was in his Navy dress blues. It is a b&w unretouched except for sizing and shows it's age. It's tilted because it was taken on a ship and I wanted to keep it's authenticity. He died in 1981 from cancer and was the best man I ever knew. I hope we all remember our servicemen & women this Memorial Day, those who are with us and those who are not..... I know I sure do. They served their country proudly and gave so much........ so we could have so much. I thank you for your indulgence. John S. Warmbier

I'm glad you have this picture for you, firstly and then for all of the rest of us to remember those of our families who have served. I like it that you kept the line of the ship tipped, because it shows off the very straight posture of your father and how he definitely must have had his sea legs by that time. It seems to me you take after him. A wonderful tribute, my friend. PJ

I see that you miss your dad, John, and loved him very much. This is a wonderful tribute to his memory and if I recall I think that you posted his image once before. Did he make a career of the Navy? My dad was in the army in Europe during that war. This photo looks to be in very good condition and I think you look a lot like your father too.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Not just memorial day, but every day we should thank those who make sacrifices on behalf of this country we live in. I know I sure do appreciate them all.
