They use these to make sure their spells are mixed correctly. Only saw one once and then it took the curl right outta my tail. ROFL Thanks and stay away from the bad witches, they're nothin' but trouble. :) J
Very nice. Strange how well the colours work together in this - I wouldn't have expected them to, but they create a sense of tension/anticipation, I think. I like your interpretation, too. I guess I just assumed they used recipe cards/books like everyone else, but it might undermine the atmosphere to get the card box out, I suppose. I still like the idea of the spell book, though - or is that considered a bit dated now?

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

The witch has a wheel?!? That's weird. Okay, enough alliteration. ;) It looks like the witch's cauldron to me and I see some interesting things swimming around in there.

I see she has the eye of a newt and the leg of a frog mixed in the cauldron - she is stirring up a nasty spell! lol! Great imagination John - lovely colours and the pattern certainly reminds me of witches with the little witches hats around the edges!
