An unexpected opportunity for a shot one morning. Mist hanging low in amongst the trees not quite reaching the ground. Lowish light levels: iso 400 1/60th f7.1 handheld leaning on a tree. I hope it captures the mood of the eery stillness and quiet in the woods at that time of the morning in the middle of nowhere! mostly it was the layers of colour and horizontal vs vertical texture that caught my eye

very surreal shot - great colour banding through the various plants - definitely a quite unique nature shot. well done.

Hey Jeremi!....now that is gorgeous! I can feel the quiet thats for sure! Ive seen times like that here where I live...but I'm not usually up so early...but at the Coast here it can even happen late in the day when the cloud banks come in from across the Ocean...I love the colours of this of course!! But taht soft lavender fog looks almost like a veil coming down...Its just beautiful!!

Very very nice. Aside from the mood, I like the way that this image does not necessarily follow any rules: the conflict of lines is perfect... Very nice.

he colors are beautiful here Jeremi! I expect to see the "maid of the Mist' come walking out of the forest :))....the mood is captured is very surreal. I can almost hear the "quiet'! I like the vertical lines and the colors the best. Well done and good eye. My new desktop and thank you :~)

Truly amazing shot! The way you cropped it, giving those bands of color equal value and then the dominance of the verticals is really beautiful. Throw in the morning mist and the shot comes to life. Well done!

Oh yes, I sense the quiet in this lovely forest. The many colors blend well-I especially like the yellow trees/brush-they have a fragile appearance that is becoming. The tall trees fit so well & the mist puts this all together. It is more than beautiful..thanks!
