[experimental macro] I found some shards of broken glass and even though the 1/2mm DOF makes it impossible to get anything sharp I thought the over all lighting effect made a soothing quiet desktop. Hope you enjoy this one
Perhaps you could use your shallow depth of field to your advantage .. and have it be a feature instead of an apology
for example .. lets say you work on computers .. ;o) .. arrange a cable (fiberoptic, if you have it) or a screw in a clamp with your background a decent distance away to blur and not steal attention from your subject .. your background could be an assortment of circuitry and lights that create that "I'm a NERD" techy kinda vibe
But .. just because I can arrange thse words in such a way as to fool a pre-schooler doesn't mean I have any skill or patience for Macro ... you're on your own .. O_o
> with your background a decent distance away to blur and not steal attention
ROFLAMO!!
decent distance? and be totally out of focus?
you mean like 1 millimetre away ???
héhé ... seems like you didnt quite get the scale of things involved in this
when you have 1/2 mm DOF --- EVERYTHING is out of focus except for a tiny thin plane
I was curious to see what you did here at full view. I think I understand your macro play but agree with tweeker that for me, I'd like a more defined image though I love the abstract nature of most macros. I like glass texture and colors that can be captured. I hope you'll experiment some more.
