This Bahamian fishing boat was washed up on a rocky beach just north of Staniel Cay in the Exumas. The photo was taken just before sunset which is why it looks so sort of yellow.
I don't know if it's the light, but to me there's a very "flat" feel to this one, almost as if it's a collage rather than a photo. Still an intriguing picture, though...
I think I agree with Simon on this one... I believe it's because it's too clear all the way from the foreground up to those lovely clouds. The human eye doesn't see the world in such a way and thus it looks more natural with a limited field of depth where the focus of attention coincide with the visual focus... ^_^ Lame ass comment... Sorry for that. I love the colors in this photo but they look slightly enhanced (maybe a tad bit too much) with filters or postediting... On the other hand there are some lighting conditions tat could make it look like this. To conclude I think It would look much better with a shorter field of depth. (IMHO of course.)
Thanks for all of your comments so far - Good and bad, I want to hear them all - especially the negative ones since I can learn from that. I did enhance the photo a bit mainly in attempts to get rid of some of the yellow (good job that did huh?) and to make the sky come out more blue than just white. In terms of depth of field - That's a great help. I totally agree. I just got a digital camera a little while ago and I could take all of 15 pictures before my card was full at full resolution - which I always used. So in the future, I'll be able to experiement more and get just the right shot. Hopefully make this feel a little more 3D in the future. Thanks!
