I took this at 7am in Mt. Tremblant National Park in Quebec, Canada. I was running around like a kid trying to get a bunch of shots before all the mist disappeared.
I agree. The smooth water, the hard black of the rocks, the mist, and the island all combine to produce a really spectacular composition that is perfected by the light. 10 from me. I'm also in for a B&W gallery where ordinary viewers won't trash our stuff.
yep - a very nice shot. if i had any criticism at all to make it would be the contrast on the foreground rocks is borderline too heavy and there are some traces of overly enthusiastic unsharpmasking on them as well either by you or your camera's software. thats just a minor gripe though on an otherwise spectacular shot. high marks.
Was it cold at 7am? I like the photo, I think I prefer this one in B&W. And yes, lets look at a B&W gallery. I think that would be good.
Anyway I like the balance in the image, the right hand stone and the island works for me.
