Yes.. i agree with hernoor.. ones eyes cant be kept of the twisted path,, wondering where it will take you when you follow that... It's a great picture..
Dan, this is a good crisp well-composed image.
However, it lacks a point of focus and by that I mean that it has a beautiful set of leading lines that don't really lead you to anything. Try to position something of interest at the point where the path disappears around the brick wall. It could be a young couple holding hands, a clown, a... well use your imagination. There is nothing wrong with posing an image instead of just taking it.
Let me give you an example from one of my images. Find the image "Top Heavy" (if you sort by c-index) it's on the first page. While it is true that there were raindrops on the Tulip there wasn't enough for my liking so I took out a spray bottle (which I always carry with me in the field when I'm photographing) and added a few more.
I guess the bottom line is that as an artist one can always add and remove objects (with-in reason) from the end scene to give it more meaning and to jazz it up. Painters and people who sketch do it all the time, so why not photographers?
Good luck and I'm looking forward to seeing a whole lot more of your work, you really have talent. Just remember to play around a little.
I love the stonework that seems to be at many of these beautiful places you show us!
I think this shot is gorgeous, and for me, the bridge itself and surrounding stonework is enough of a focal point to please me! Beautiful!
Please forgive me: I want to thank everyone who views and comments my images, I try but it is hard to write individual thank you at times. Please know you are appreciated!
I love the placement of this bridge, right at the water's edge....which also leads to your wonderful angle of capture. Your colors are bright and crisp. This is really a pretty scene, Dan!
Such clarity on this Dan _ I can even see the rocks under the water to the left. Makes me want to cross over to the other side for a stroll. Nice going !
