This is the lobby of Glacier Park Lodge built in 1913. The highlight of the lodge are the huge Douglas fir pillars that are over 40 feet high and 40 inches in diameter that form the supports in the lobby. They were so heavy they could be hauled only two to a rail car when brought to the building site.

Great one Dan, those are some serious hunks of timber there! Looks like a great place to let the mind wonder and relax. Thanks for the opportunity to see some great places.

What a gorgeous place to stay. The size of the timber is amazing itself. It must have taken alot of manpower to build this lodge way back then. The lighting, angle .... well everything is perfect here. How many floors was this lodge? Great capture Dan & thanks for sharing.

Yeah, you are right, this is bigger than a Cracker Barrell. Very nice! I love Hotel Lobbies like that!! I thought they only grew them like that in the Big City....like NY!

What an impressive lobby this is and so huge!!! Looks like a ski lodge to me how rustic it looks .My jaw would have hit the floor as soon as I walked in there and seen this. Love the angle you shot this at too. Really gives us a sense of the size of this place while showing the beauty of it also.Nice one Dan.
