This is another from Little Big Horn Battleground. In case your not able to read the sign it tells of a part of the battle that took place here. "The hill in front of you was occupied by Lakota and Cheyenne during the fight on Last Stand Hill. An unknown Sioux warrior wearing a warbonnet was killed here while firing his rifle at soldiers positioned behind a horse barricade on the crest of the ridge behind you. As soldier carbine fire ceased, victorious warriors rush the hill."

Nice photograph, and your description makes it much more interesting. Had I not known what history took place here... I am not sure I would have enjoyed the image as much. Good job and thank you for posting the notes about it as well!

Very nice shot Dan, do you ever find any bits or pieces of the things that went on at these sites when you go there? Old buried shell casing you know things of that nature.

Beauiful capture of the landscape. I like how you have added some history into the image which enhances the feeling of this view. Great work

A beautiful capture of those rolling hills ... it is hard to imagine a historical battle took place there at one time. I have read several books on Little Big Horn & now seeing your pic's I would love to see it for real. Very nice colors & wonderful depth captured here. Fantastic work Dan.

To think that this now barren place was once the home of a fierce battle is so interesting to see Dan. Your narration is very descriptive also. We'll never know what has happened in the past on the land we walk on today that just didn't get into the history books will we?. Very nicely done .
