This is a Chalet that is behind the main lodge I stayed at in Glacier. It is rented out to groups for reunions, get togethers, etc. Wish I could have shot this from a different angle but with it hanging over the edge like that it would have been almost impossible, so, sorry about the tree & cars. :( Dont know how I could have cloned them completely out..that is without the aid of a chainsaw. lol The park may have frowned over that. lol I know this is no masterpiece, but I thought it was such a neat looking place, I just wanted to share it with you anyway! ;-)

It's a nice photo Dan but liek you said, the tree does kind of cut the chalet in half. It's really a shame, I would have loved to have seen the whole front of it. But wouldn't want you to slip and fall over the edge. The mountains and greenery in the background are lovely. Good attempt Dan. Thanks for sharing it. Anita

Dan, the chalet looks like a bit of Austria. It brings me back some good memories. Thanks for the pictures of Glacier National Park.

Aw, no guts no glory. You could have built a scaffold and got that shot. As is, pretty capture and what a view for the occupants. Nice.

What a view! Those mountains in the distance would have kept me enthralled for quite some time. It is very interesting the way the chalet is set up there on the edge of the hillside. I was wondering why they kept that tree there, but it may be because it appears to be the only vegetation (other than grass) close by. Thanks for letting us see this.

I was thinking just what Cindy was....about the view. Breathtaking from the chalet. Maybe I will rent it someday for the Big Caedes Convention!

now I thought I had left a message about this one, but I must have got distracted or something - probably by some comments left elsewhere! lol! - now if this chalet is hanging over the edge there, I would not stay in it! The tree looks fine where it is - nice looking chalet and well captured Dan. Patti

What a view I bet from the balcony on the back overlooking the valley. Looks like it is suspended in the air which is kind of scary looking. What a weird place for a tree though. It doesn't affect the photo at all Dan.I bet that tree is beautiful in the winter though with snow on it.
