I snapped this little blue butterfly while hiking in Newton Hills State Park over the Labor Day weekend. The first one I've ever been able to get to light long enough for me to get a shot! Many thanks to PJ (Phasmid) for her help on this one!! (Great job PJ!) Thanks to ALL my friends for your comments & visits! Always appreciated! ~Dan

Wow ... I have never seen a blue butterfly before ... it's beautiful. Fantastic lighting & clarity ... I hope the little guy wasn't afraid of it's own shadow. LOL. Nice & bright green leaves ... sure to please any Packer fan. LOL. An excellent shot Dan.

You sure you didn't put a little stickum on that leaf??? LMAO Great job Dan, I've seen them around here too (very small) and no they don't sit still very often.

This is really perfect. The shadow on the leaf gives the appearance of 3D. I like it.

Ooooh how pretty! It reminds me of a wintery day, with those baby soft hues. I like how the lighting is causing it's shadow to spread underneath too. Really nice shot!

This is a pretty little thing ... never came across one like this. It's either very tiny or those leaves are humongous. I agree with Chuck, there is a 3D look to this because of the shadow. Nice capture Dan.

What a pretty little butterfly. Love those blue wings and white body. The leaves are so green and in sharp focus. This is better than anything I have. Have you ever seen a butterfly in any of my postings? They just fly by and wave. Great work.

What a delicate little creature, Dan - beautiful composition on those leaves. Good work, both of you! Now, if you could just clone out that blue spot ..... :))) LOL

I love the detail on the leaves and the contrast between the size of the leaves and the size of the butterfly.

Look at him just sitting there all soft blue against his bright green leaf, showing off his wings, and gazing into the camera with those big black eyes. Lovely capture :)

*edit* Just read the comment above me and must say that the butterfly's shadow is absolutely perfect!
