The first thing I thought of when I saw this bench was that it reminded me of something from "The Flintstones" cartoon. Maybe this is the spot where Fred proposed to Wilma?? LOL Actually the bench is made from the very quartzite that the old quarry it sits by produced. Again this is from Arrowhead Park as my recent posts have been. Thanks for taking a look!

This is such a wonderful photo. The colors look almost non realistic. There can not be such a great day this days, or? Now I know, why Wilma said yes, because of the romantic situation. I always wondered.

Well, it's not the color I would have expected quartzite to be, but what do I know? It is a pretty reddish stone and apparently strong too. Thank you for taking us to this lovely park.

Now, Dan, if you look behind you at the wooden rail fence, you'll understand that the bench and the fence couldn't possibly have been together there in Fred and Wilma's time. So I think I've disproven your theory by the WFD (Wooden Fence Dating) device, now so widely accepted as a form of dating finds of antiquity...lmao...*wink* This is a witty post and your commentary, as usual, lends it the air of fun..:)PJ ..............................ps..great photo by the way, YABBA-DABBA-DO!!!!

Fred and Wilma? How bout Bob and Ann? I guess he is going to take a pass on it although that seat will probably be there long after all of us. Nice capture.

Nice posting Dan ... exceptional focus throughout the image. Love the title ... very appropriate. The bench looks a little risky though ... looks like some practical joker has set that left upright leaning ... just waiting to give some poor "lard bottom" that comes along a heart attack. :o)
