This is the R.F. Pettigrew Home & Museum in Sioux Falls,South Dakota. It is a Queen Anne style house built in 1889 which was the year SD was admitted to the Union. He was the first U.S. Senator from SD serving from 1889 to 1891, and was instrumental in bringing business to Sioux Falls when it was in it's infancy. If you'd like to take a virtual tour of the outside of the museum and it's surrounding neighborhood (in nicer weather..lol) I have provided a link. Yes, the white dots you may see in the picture are snow flakes falling. lol Thanks as always for your comments and views!

Great capture of this building/museum Dan. Nice clarity and the whiteness all around it sure brings out the color in the brick even more. Very well done. Thanks for sharing it and the 'tour'.

Thanks for the tour, Dan. I think your shot of it is much nicer than the one in the tour. It really looks massive from your shot. Now I know what this kind of architecture is called. The library of the town I grew up in, is very much like this as are some of the houses.
The colors are really good too.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Dan, beautiful old building, nice capture in the snow. Took the tour and noticed how flat the land is. My great-great grandmother and her husband staked a claim just north of Sioux Falls, 1800's, in what was then Dakota Territory. She kept a factual diary while sitting the claim (her husband was in the nearest town working). But she never said how she took to all that flatness after growing up in Vermont. Guess you had to be real tough in those days!

I love these old structures, Dan. This is a very good capture of this building. The exposure is spot on. Colors and focus are great. Great work. Hope you went inside.
