I caught this little duck swimming in what little open water there was at the Falls of which I posted earlier pics. of. You can see the tracks he left in the snow walking over to it. It was a nice day for a swim..a couple degrees above zero F! lol As much as I tried I was not able to bring his color out any better. He wasn't black as it appears here, but rather brown. Thanks for viewing and commenting if you wish! :) ~Dan

This is such a cute picture. When I look at the tracks, I ask myself, if and what this guy is drinking. Smile. I like this very much, but when you are unhappy - do you have photoshop?

That is so cute, his tracks leading up to the little bit of pond. I hope you weren't treading on thin ice, Mr. Dan! Did you try using the dodge tool on him? This is a delightful post. He must have had to swim in circles though! LOL

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

I think he's very cute and the whole idea of the upload is one that tugs at the heartstrings in more than one way. I don't know if you'd like my help on this or not, and I'd be happy to try, but I like the silhouette of the duck...somehow with the tracks "wandering" as Patti has described it...seems more poignant than seeing him as real. I guess I'd like to believe that he is imagined and not really there all alone swimming in the icy cold water with no one to keep him company....what's with Patti's age? 55 is perfectly acceptable, especially since she doesn't look a day over 35 ????

Hi Dan,
i just came over this one in the VB and gave it a 10/10. As of his color, it's not your fault in editing, it's not possible to bring his true colors out which means black is black :o)
I also tried it and had no success, the only thing I managed was to make the ice brighter :o))

This is great Dan. Poor little thing must be frozen though having to make tracks to get to water :) Excellent post and glad you shared this one.
