After many years of sitting vacant, and coming close to being torn down several times, the State Theater in Sioux Falls has it's marquee back again. I attended many movies here as a kid and the interior was very elegant looking. It's still not open yet, & decisions are still being made as far as what to do with it. At least for now it seems to be safe from the wrecking ball! Please note the date for Hot Harley Nights if your planning on donning leathers & riding in the parade this year! lol C):-)

Coincidentally, there is/was a State Theater in the little town I grew up in and it went through the same transitions as this State Theater seems to be experiencing! I went there as a kid and for 25 cents on a Saturday afternoon, you could see a double feature and cartoons! Most of the time, the movies were westerns. Ah, such fond memories you have stirred up, Dan. Thank you! I love the reflections of the sky in the windows of the building.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Nice nostalgic capture Dan, I even remember the serials - left you hanging until the next week to find out who won, the good guys or the bad guys.

Unbelieveable. Dan, all the old memories your bring back with that photo. The old Capital theater in Milford,CT where I spent great times when I was a kid. It was taken down because it could not show ten movies at a time. Nice to see you still have a great theater in your back yard. Ride on cowboy and you are helping to protect our past with photos like this one.

What have you done with your camera, Sheriff? It looks like you've souped up the saturation and it's lookin' great :) I don't have any memories at all of movies when I was a child. My first movie was "Gone With the Wind" and then I was 18 and got in because I was babysitting. I was raised believing that movies were evil :( Thankfully that was an easy one to get over ::LOL:: I'm glad you're showing us this great revival of the past. I always enjoy it when people take projects like this to hand, and make sure and notify me, along with Mr. Cowardly, when the "Wizard of Oz" comes to town. It happens to be my fave as well, and I want to be first in line !!!!! :)
