The Spirit of West festival started with a chuckwagon feed cook off this year. It was focused on Dutch Oven cooking. The food was great! These folks could cook anything using a kettle and a campfire! C):-)
Mmmm, mmmmm! I can smell the food from here! The shot is so crystal clear, it feels like I am there. Great shot, Dan. Looks like it was a mite chilly that day.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

I sure could go for some chili and cornbread right about now LOL. I agree with Cindy, this shot is so crystal clear I feel as though I'm standing here myself Dan. I think it's wonderful your town has events such as this to enjoy. What a great post this is.
I'm really enjoying your sharing this Western festival with us. I enjoy shots of people when they're unsuspecting. Great post. Colors and clarity are great.
Oh, yeah...I'm in line..ya just can't see me yet. I sure hope the gal in the pioneer hat is the cook who tasted and perfected this cookin' and that the cowpoke dishing it up closest to us is just helping out, cause he looks like he doesn't do too much eating, but she sure looks well fed and happy...what a great people shot..and I'm so glad you're taking us back to the rodeo, Sheriff. It's sizing up to be all I was wishing it would be...so far...I hope there's more! :) *tips my white hat*
"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon
I wish you could've gotten closer and done a nice depth of field blur. When I saw this I said "CHIL-AY!" even though it's not. A fun picture - well balanced light, contrast, and saturation.
"Imperfection is beauty; madness is genius & it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring. And when it comes down to it, I let them think what they want. If they care enough to bother with what I do, then I'm really better than them."--Marilyn Monroe
this one's up there with some of the really greats, like Montivedao's 'Study in bologna and whipped cream' or Pinwick's 'Concerto for fork and spoon in C#' and who would forget 'Fuddmisters 'Postmortem for pork and beans'! In other words, who cares.
