This is a shot of one of two quick draw competitions taking place at the Spirit of West Festival. When the light comes on above the target the shooters draw and fire, and must hit the target, popping the orange balloon in the center. You miss you get no time (no score). Wanna try your luck? You would have to be in the under HALF-SECOND time range to even get close! Most contestants sport special quick draw holsters and were in the .30 to .40 second time!

To quote Quigley: "This is not Dodge City and you're not Bill Hickock." Don't imagine I would enter this unless someone else wanted to "pop" my balloon. I like the action shot and with the fast times, you must be pretty fast with the button yourself. Nice post Mr. Dillon.

If he'd been standing tall, Dan, he wouldn't have fit your frame. lol That's faster than I can depress the shutter button! These guys must have lots of practice. Can you do it? This is another great action shot in this series.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

You were quick draw on the camera, Dan, love this shot! Not the sort of competion we see at fairs and such in the northeast, so this really caught my eye.

He looks as though he's shot a gun more than once LOL. I love the stance you've captured of him, just like in the old westerns. What a great "shot" this is Dan.

Looks like there were lots of attempts by the burst balloons scatter on the ground there! A shot of a sure shot by a sure shooter. Can't ask for anything better than that. We'll have to start calling you Sheriff QuickDraw!!
