Twilight falls near Sylvan Lake, and we begin to see the Black Hills (or Paha Sapa in the Lakota language) of South Dakota start to live up to their name. The Lakota named them because of the appearance they took on from a distance covered in pine trees. C):-)

I can see why the name originated Mr. Dillon. Looks like a nice place to stop and view the scenery. Hills truly are black. I like the tree being used as part of the framing.

Beautiful post, Dan! Those mountains remind me of the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. I love the haze and the way you have framed the mountains with the pine boughs.
