Shot last summer just by the sea at the place I took the "Silver Cave" photo (and related photos). I thought the shadows were too deep between the rocks so the texture didn't come out that well but I guess it's not that bad.
Thank you for the critique Cassie, I really appreciate that. It's exactly that quality that I like about it. Thank you too Joost for the nice comment. :)
I think I must have been between a rock and a hard place when you posted this. Sorry I missed. It's my desktop for the day. I'm thrilled with the natural colors, contrasts, and shadows. I'm also with Cassie. First thing I thought at full-view was "great, natural abstract!"
I think this is a lot better than you think. I love the way the stones bicect the rock, and add colour to it. And the fact that they are so well spaced adds to the effect. Good Shot!
I really like this one too...the strong diagonal of the crack and the repeating forms of the small stones are great. The surface textures of the granites are nicely set off by the darkness of the main crack and the smaller cracks add other lines which lead the eye in good patterns.
I absolutely love this photo - I think the textures are amazing. Such beauty from a part of nature we don't always consider beautiful. And the more I look at this, the better I like it. Very very well done!!!
Hi Klaas. You have a good eye for composition. This is one of those shots I walk by every day, because I'm not clever enough to realize they're there. You got it, and thanks for the lesson. I need it.
I love this one. Funny how as children we notice the beauty of rocks and always collect them; then as adults we become so immersed in so called life that we forget all about them. Thanks for refreshing my memory of that long forgotten love, with your beautifully composed and presented photo. In memory of my long abandoned rock collection this one is going into my special photo collection. Thank you!
