Your minipulation here is something from which to learn, I'll tell you that. Your isolation of the subject here through buttonizing as well as the use of the weird background is a lesson I'm going to take away from here. This is very creative work.
A scorpion fly? oh my goodness! what a strange critter....but I agree. the framing is just perfect..buttonizing? I didnt even know what it was, so now I will have to try this...hope I can figure it out...but I DO have the book..hehe..this is a great shot..so unusual.

I am wondering how or what difference it would make if the 'topographical' illusion was left out. The framing and image seems strong enough to me, to suggest this possibility.
