This is really well done except for the edges on the spiky bits, they are a bit rough. I presume you have used the "Plastice wrap" effect here. I think an easy way to combat this issue would be to create the image at a higher res, then when you shrink it down the edges should appear a bit crisper.
Lovely. I agree with Sam about the edges looking pixelated. His suggestion does work well. Are you using the pen tool to create the shapes or drawing them by hand? The pen tool will help you achieve smoother lines.
Something about this type of metal work must make it extremely hard to get smooth edges from. I've seen this show up in the best of some other's images. Keep at it. If they were smaller I would say that the smudge tool on the smallest setting would even them out, but on this, chances are it will blur it too much. Again I like the simple design making a nice strong statement. Gradient just fine too. ;)
