Now, I have to assume that this immaculately taken photo is part of a mushroom, I would imagine, although I can see aliens wandering around here and feeling quite at home...spore.. Definition from dictionary.com: "Biology. a walled, single- to many-celled, reproductive body of an organism, capable of giving rise to a new individual either directly or indirectly." Is it possible to actually photograph a real spore? Whatever, this is beautiful and the colors are grand as are the shadows that make this a visual experience..thanks :)PJ
What she said. ↑ PLus, what did you do, take one of Alice's pills to shrink yourself waaaaaaay down, small enough to get this extraordinary shot ? I never imagined the humble little mushroom held such beauty within it's depths. Thank you for showing me the error of my ways. ;o)
this is a great shot as usual! i love the different angle you have photographed this from, it makes a change to see them upside down! (goes to the fridge to get mushrooms out to have a look)! lol ,i dont usually look at them, just chop them up and fling them in! wouldnt like to eat this one though!
What an interesting macro shot! The coloring, shading and pattern created by the mushroom (I'm guessing it's a mushroom) make this an interesting shot. Well captured and presented!
"To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
~ Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lovely gill detail Kristof and nicely composed. It's a shame that most of the time this almost architectural detail is hidden underneath. Have you ever taken spore prints - they make some interesting patterns and colours?
Cheers,
Steve.
