In the upper reaches of the mountain range the snow gives way each spring to millions of crocuses. This year there were late April snowfalls followed by sudden hot weather - making the locals grumble that they had gone direct from winter to summer! - but to me the resulting patchwork just added to the mountain's beauty.

rare!! tree thirds ground, mountain and cloudy sky..

hmm. try to play with the HUE variables in photoshop, to tone up the green ground a little bit, you might like it better. Offcourse its only an idea!!

Kevin, I kinda knew it was you from the RUSTIC CABIN near the Dolomites. I practically live in Italy. Was born in a midieval town near Lucca in Garfagnana. One of my pics shows the Bell Tower. I just love seeing pics of Italy. This one of Gran Sasso in Abruzzo which is the highest peak in the Apennines is just so special to me. I am truly grateful that you have shared these pics.
