A characteristic feature of Sardinia is its boulders. Often carved by windblown sand into fantastical shapes, they can be found almost everywhere. In the mountains they form huge, precarious piles, but on the coast they are more likely to form interesting islets and inlets. Here the predominant rock is pink granite, where gnarled conifers struggle to penetrate their roots.

I like this one mate!...Love that tree in the forefront ..it gives a sense of perspective against those rugged shoreline rocks

Nature can certainly create some strange and beautiful designs - this looks almost surreal.
I think this picture deserves the highest marks - for its clarity and colour and warmth of the sunshine and for its uniqueness. Fine work Kevin

I agree - highest marks for this one! There are so many things to comment on - the way the mountains are framed by the twisted tree, the beauty of the rock, the feeling that you could just be floating on that water. Wonderful!

nice framing of the mountain in the distance Kevin! Did you get further down the bank to get a wider window too! I often try different shots when I find a natural window like this one! Super contrasts of natural colours and lighting!

Kevin as always a great shot with excellent clarity, but I think of you got lower and zoomed in a bit and used the tree as a full left frame it might have just drawn the eye more to the background. I`ts still a great shot but I think you what you have done is to get the whole tree and rockery in there but this has left a big bit of sky to the top left with nothing in there. No matter what still a very good shot.

Oh, we have growths like this along the Pacific coast here in ORegon too. I love how they make the Ocean feel even more ocean like. You took a nice clear shot here. And of course the tree
with the rock gives such great contrast and texture.I would have loved to see you back up just a tad bit, so the tree in the front and the rocks in the background don't become such a
"merger"...but the photo is still very very good. Verena
