I took this in New Mexico on a recent trip from a moving vehicle....pretty much worked. I thought the column of light was so beautiful. Couldn't decide between white or black background but finally picked white as my favorite. I like to leave room for icons on the desktop so as to not cover up the picture, if possible. Hope you like it and thanks for looking!

If I may be so bold to suggest ... with such an inspirational image, the addition of some text would be most welcomed. Just a suggestion.

As is ... the moment you captured here is quite spectacular. Hmm, I don't mind the resultant blur ... it adds to the ethereal ambiance already present. If I did express a preference, it would have to be for some more clarity (but you know that). I just love images like this. They are truly inspirational.

The background fits the overall image fine. Good choice.

Nice work. And I appreciate your efforts on this one and will leave anymore woulda, couldas out of the equation. :o)
