Wondering through the neighbourhood again and stumbled across this Iceland Poppy that was peaking out from a fence. Like an outcast because of its imperfection.The rest of its family living behind the fence. I like the coloring in this poppy even with the imperfect petal, I think it is even more gorgeous. Please view at full screen. I did a couple of things to this shot. I extracted the poppy, did an artistic effect to the background and then framed it all. Comments appreciated as always.

It's a beauty Ruby. I like the coloring too and you're framing with the little bit of shadow in the background is beautiful as well. Very nice photo. It looks wonderful on the DT. Anita

Love the script and the atmosphere it provides-a lone disgigured poppy outcast from the group. Cool. Well, just let me tell you, it has it's own beauty, outcast or not.. Love that pink and the center is gorgeous. Only your professional eye could have seen the beauty in it. Go girl!

Great application of effect! I love your description too... it made me a tad sad, though. Such a pretty, though some would say "imperfect", flower. Aren't we all imperfect in some way? I think that's what makes us more beautiful. ;) Good image!
